Four Years at The Blue Earth Summit: Why We Keep Going Back

This year marked our fourth trip to The Blue Earth Summit, and it was another reminder of why it’s become a fixture in our calendar.

Why we keep coming back

As a B Corp, sustainability shapes how we run the business, who we work with and the work we put out into the world. Blue Earth is one of the few places where that conversation goes beyond good intentions and into practical action. The best part is always the people: a room full of founders, campaigners and businesses who are actually doing the work and not just talking about it.

The GEN R jukebox

This year we brought the GEN R jukebox along, and it went down a storm. Every song played supported 1% for the planet. GEN R (Generation Restoration) is a CIC I set up, which connects people with nature using music, art and stories inside popular culture.

What stood out

The line-up was brilliant again, with talks and workshops from organisations that are shaping the future of business – including B Lab, Purpose Disruptors and Earth Percent. There were great talks from some of our favourite climate advocates including Clover Hogan and Andy Cato. A few ideas I’m bringing back:

  • Nature as a collaborator, not a cause
  • Our food system can recover quickly when we use regenerative practice
  • Protection of our oceans needs more support…but progress is being made

What it means for marketers

Blue Earth always sends us home thinking about our own impact. This year, that’s ‘Project Hope’, our purpose-led initiative bringing all of our social and environmental commitments under one roof. It covers our climate-positive work, community support and social impact activity, channelling them into something with real momentum.

Thank you

A huge congratulations to the Blue Earth team who put so much into making the summit happen. Thanks to Will Haylor, Guy Haylor, Linley Lewis and Freddie O’Shea. See you next year.
