Owning Immigration Search & AIO Visibility for Remitly
Evolving a flagship data study and owning AIO placement for immigration-related searches worldwide.
We returned Remitly’s Immigration Index for its second edition in 2026, building on the success of the 2025 flagship report, with expanded data, added interactive elements and full translations into French, German and Spanish, giving prospective migrants a genuinely improved decision-making tool. The evolution paid off: the campaign surpassed 2025’s coverage volume and reach, while the campaign page now sits as the number one AI Overview suggestion and ranks high on page one of Google for high-intent search terms including “immigration index”, “best countries for immigrants” and “best place for immigrants”.

The challenge
Last year’s Immigration Index was a runaway success, earning widespread global coverage, reaching migrants in every corner of the world, and, in the process, becoming a genuinely useful decision-making tool for one of the world’s largest and most under-served audiences. The challenge for 2026 was how to top it. How to build on that momentum, deliver something even more valuable to Remitly’s core audience of prospective movers, and continue growing coverage and reach, all without compromising the rigorous methodology and editorial foundations that made year one so credible in the first place?
Our approach
We took a three-pronged approach to making the 2026 Immigration Index more useful than year one. First, we expanded the data with a particular focus on the family-friendly category (the most engaged-with topics from the 2025 edition). Second, we rebuilt the report as a microsite (but keeping the same URL) so users could navigate and interact with the data tables directly, alongside introducing richer visual design and graphics to make the report more user-friendly overall. And finally, we translated the full index into French, German and Spanish, unlocking access for millions of additional native speakers globally.
The impact
Nearly 300 pieces of coverage across 64 countries (up from 250 last year) with linked pickup in Forbes, Focus, TimeOut and La Razon. “Immigration Index” was name-checked in 55% of articles. The campaign page now holds the #1 AI Overview slot and page-one Google rankings for key immigration search terms.
