The Rocket Newsletter

November 2009

The champagne has been flowing at the Propellernet headquarters after winning three of the four awards we were nominated for last month. At the Sussex Business Awards we walked away with the 'Healthiest Workplace' award and 'Innovation in Business' award and at the Sussex Sports Awards we bagged the 'Active & Healthy Workplace Initiative' award. This makes us, well, the healthiest innovators around.

Judge Alan Grundy from Brighton University was impressed with our innovative approach to online marketing, which includes creative and innovative techniques such as persona insight and revenue potential modeling to deliver positive results for our clients.

Our healthy workplace initiatives and activities have been going since the summer and are still going strong. We all enjoyed our first massage sessions last week and look forward to a winter full of well being…and winning more awards of course!

Best Regards,

Staff Profile

Name: Gary Preston
Role: Strategy Director

What is the biggest tip you could give to a brand?
Find out what your conversion rate is. Then start asking why the 98%+ are not doing what you want them to do. Finally do something about it. Rinse and repeat. That's usually a good starting point. Most importantly come and speak to us as soon as you feasibly can. If you don't walk away bursting with enthusiasm then I'll shave my hair off. Promise.

Why Propellernet?
If you've ever met anybody from Propellernet you'd never ask such a silly question. Propellernet has always had an amazing reputation for good reason. We love what we do and what we do is always the best thing for the client. I'm allowed to create a strategy that's right for the client. Not what's right for us. How liberating!

What's your favourite website or blog and why?
Eric Enge's interviews with key industry figures are always a great read, but if I had to pick 2 must read blogs then it would be: SEOmoz and Aaron Wall's SEObook.com.
