The Rocket Newsletter

March 2010

It's been back to basics this month as we have looked at natural search results for a couple of large online retailers – one of our favourite sectors to work with. Everyone knows the importance of being on page one of Google but did you know that the difference between 3rd and 9th could be as much as £30k per month? It is if you are selling LCD TV's and it could be a similar amount for your business. You should work it out. Benefit from our expertise and read Gary's blog post where he shows you how to prioritise your keyword and SEO efforts.

Elsewhere, it's been a month of meeting and greeting here at Propellernet HQ with new faces, awards ceremonies and networking events-galore. As well as welcoming new guys Rik and Stefan (featured in Staff Profile) we've been getting out and about, meeting lots of our industry peers. This included attending the Travel Marketing Awards where we came away as winners. We're delighted to be able to add another trophy to our cabinet and hope to further add to our collection throughout 2010.

Best Regards,

Staff Profile

Name: Stefan Hull
Role: Business Director

What's your favourite website and why?
I've been visiting NOTCOT.ORG for a couple of years and it remains my go-to website when I'm looking for inspiration. It showcases an eclectic mix of stuff and constantly surprises me.

Why Propellernet?

I really liked the new offices. But seriously, I first met Jack about five years ago and have admired Propellernet from afar since then. Jack was always the first person I turned to for advice about search and online PR. So, when the opportunity came to join the team I jumped at it. It's the perfect opportunity to apply my broad business experience in the world of digital marketing.

What three items would you take to a desert island?

1. A full-size American pool table (and a bloody good cue)
2. A little bebop drum kit with a simple selection of cymbals
3.
A chaise longue

Take a peek at some pics here.
