February 2010
We have moved to pastures new! For the past four weeks we've been meeting in our funky lime-coloured Green House and hot pink Boardroom, working alongside our new graffiti wall and munching away to a backdrop scene from Pulp Fiction in our cool cafe – all slap bang in the centre of Brighton. We've even got space for Monday lunchtime Pilates classes, so no winter blues for us!
However, it's not all relaxation at Propellernet HQ…four members of the team will be taking to the roads on 21st February to run the Brighton half marathon for a variety of different charities. If you'd like to donate, check out Chris, Lucy and Stu's charity pages. And as always, we've dished up some interesting reading for you to enjoy.
Read on to get the full low-down on all of the above and more…
Best Regards,

Propellernet HQ relocates to Brighton!
A vibrant team deserves a vibrant environment. Designed by Nicola Gobat and project managed by our finance director, Jim Jensen, Chris Clapham blogs on our funky new offices in the centre of Brighton, ready to accommodate our growing numbers in style. Read all about it and see why we're so excited (with some lovely pics too).
Linkbait, your website's best mate
We all know inbound links are gold-dust in the world of SEO, but how can you achieve LOTS of them in one go? Create some killer content that is "interesting enough to catch people's attention", otherwise known as linkbait. From meerkats called Alexandr to blending iPods, Annelies Van de Velde explains how linkbait works and gives some great examples.
The Making Of' video for our funky new graffiti wall
When you walk into the new Propellernet offices, the first thing you'll notice is the 30 foot long graffiti Muriel depicting a vibrant Brighton to London-inspired scene. The artists at Rarekind have done a stellar job and we captured the creation process in this short time-lapse video by Greg Brand . Enjoy!

What are the reasons behind Propellernet relocating to Brighton?
We needed more room to support growing demand for our services, and the team have worked their butts off so it's a nice way to say thanks. Central Brighton has an amazing buzz and the open plan space supports our culture of innovation and creativity.
What current industry hot topic are you following?
I've been studying organisational performance, and it really brings home how post 2010 a brand needs to be more than a set of key messages. It has to come from underlying values that inspire staff and customers alike and must be woven into the fabric of an organization operationally from top to bottom otherwise people will see through it.
What is your biggest achievement?
A tossup between building Propellernet from bedroom to boardroom with zero investment and raising £30,000 for Depression Alliance. I am also attempting a climb to the Matterhorn summit this summer, so look out for my sponsor form.
