The Rocket Newsletter
April 2010
At last the sun has made its first few appearances of the year and we've been able to take full advantage of our beachside location - hoorah! Cue lunchtimes sitting on the pebbles, gazing out at the waves and big smiles on the faces of all here at Propellernet.
It's just as well we can get outside for some fresh air as we have all become slightly egg headed (no, nothing to do with too much chocolate) coming up with innovative and exciting new link development tactics. We've been stretching the tools which enable us to do persona research and plot our revenue potential model so we can bolster your SEO efforts further.
If these words mean nothing to you, don't panic! Instead read Gary's blog post below or, better still, come and listen to his talk at Internet World 2010 on April 29th where you will be able to question him and Lucy (who will be speaking about SEO-PR two days earlier) on all things SEO. We hope to see you there.
Best Regards,

Top Tips on How to Get the Best from Your Brainstorms
We were horrified when an article appeared in the Metro this month, claiming that brainstorming is counter-productive. We've seen some of our best creative ideas come out of brainstorming sessions here at Propellernet HQ. If you're not so sure about their value, take a look at Lucy's blog post and pick up some tips on how to get those creative juices flowing
Search Marketing for Brands: 5 Tactics you've probably never thought of
If you found Gary's blog post last month on SEO for retailers useful, make sure you read his latest words of wisdom. This time round, Gary advises brands on how research methods such as persona modelling and keyword research are essential if you want to explore some more creative ways to drive traffic to your website.
Staff Profile
Name: Rik Turner
Role: Search Intern
What's your favourite website and why?
I regularly visit Breakbeat.co.uk to keep up to date with news, events and new releases in the DnB scene. I have a real passion for music, whether it be mixing, producing or dancing to. I try and have music in my life at all times.
What's your favourite film?
La Haine. I love this gritty French film about three young friends and their struggle to live in the banlieues of Paris.
Why Propellernet?
I had heard good things about Propellernet while I was at university and then met Stella, who had just started working here. A year later, after finishing my degree, I found myself looking for an internship in Brighton and Propellernet was top of my list of places to apply. If you don't ask you dont get, and even better, the new offices are a 5 minute stroll down the beach from my house.
