Last night the 2010 new media age Effectiveness Awards took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
With Claudia Winkleman presenting, and comedy from Milton Jones, it was billed as one of the biggest events in the interactive media industry calendar; as usual, bringing together some of the best people from the digital sector to recognise hard work in the industry and consume numerous bottles of champagne in the process!
It was therefore only fitting that Propellernet was present to win an award for Best Use of Search for Sportsshoes.com. Our award-winning campaign used a blend of creative link development, SEO PR and paid search marketing, which led to a huge ROI for them!
Despite a distinct lack of vuvuzelas we managed to make a fair amount of noise when we went up to collect our award from host, Claudia Winkleman.
Afterwards, Brett Bannister, Director of Sportsshoes.com, said “This award is tribute to the great work done by Propellernet and the team at Sportsshoes, and I’m delighted for everyone who works on the business on a day to day basis.
“The award stems from Propellernet’s holistic approach to search, encompassing SEO and PPC as one discipline and also the excellent use of more progressive search techniques like Online PR.
“Ultimately though for me the success of this campaign is not measured by awards (although it’s nice!) but by the results and sales the team generate on a day to day basis - that is what it is all about!
“Well done to everyone involved and let’s defend the title next year!!”
Since the entry submission we’ve also created an advocacy badge scheme for Sportsshoes.com (take a look at the case study!), so fingers crossed we’ll be back in 2011 for more awards! In the meantime, take a look at the rest of last night’s pictures on Flickr!
